Welcome to the new school year! We are so excited to be back teaching, learning and making new friends.
This week we focused a lot in Sorting colors. Sorting is a great exercise for our kids, it is important as a math skill, as fine motor skills and our daily life skills.
Sorting helps us develop our fine motor skills and our hand-eye coordination and control. “Fine motor” meaning to the movements of our small muscles, in this case, our hands. The kid’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination and control develop as they practice accuracy and they move their bodies in order to become more stable. They learn to have more ability when their cognitive, social and emotional skills improve.
In our daily life skills, we sort all the time. We sort our mail, the laundry, the kitchenware, our clothes… we sort all the time! Our brains sort bits of information into categories for easy retrieval in future. Our kids sorted by colors, learning the colors in Spanish.

Esta semana nos enfocamos mucho en la clasificación de colores. El clasificar es un muy buen ejercicio para nuestros hijos: es importante para desarrollar las matemáticas, las habilidades motoras finas y las habilidades para la vida diaria.
La clasificación nos ayuda a desarrollar nuestras habilidades motrices finas y nuestra coordinación ojo-mano. “Motricidad fina”, es decir, los pequeños movimientos que hacemos con los músculos de nuestras manos. Las habilidades motoras finas del niño y la coordinación ojo-mano se desarrollan a medida que practican la precisión y mueven sus cuerpos para volverse más estables. Aprenden a hacer más competentes cuando sus habilidades cognitivas, sociales y emocionales crecen.
En nuestras habilidades de la vida diaria, clasificamos todo. Clasificamos nuestro correo, la ropa, los utensilios de cocina, nuestra ropa … ¡ordenamos todo el tiempo! Nuestros cerebros clasifican partes de información en categorías. Mientas nuestros niños clasificaron colores, aprendieron los colores en español !
